I don’t know what’s cooler … this “cosmic” idea or the name “Tri-City Chili Peppers.”

Based in Colonial Heights, Virginia, a minor league baseball team will be the first team in the sport’s history to play a “cosmic baseball” game, with the team playing June 1 under a system of special artificial lighting that also includes UV-reactive equipment. Black lights will be utilized at the Tri-City Chili Peppers game that will be interacting with the UV-reactive equipment to create an effect of glow-in-the-dark for each the Tri-City franchise and the opposing team. Each side’s uniforms, hats and baseballs will all be lit up.

Uniform vender 3n2 made the “cosmic baseball” game possible for the Chili Peppers, as well as equipment manufacturers Wilson Sports Good and Tucci. Bretmor Headwear was involved with the making of the hats. The black lights were created by lighting company Sonaray, who had to make sure the lights were strong enough to play under.

The fact that the Chili Peppers are in Virginia with a cool name and cool concept for a game … I’m so proud as a Virginian.

Yeah, I live in Florida now, but I’m always gonna rep the homeland!

Also, for this cosmic game, are we able to have some sort of these little guys running around for extra effect?

What a swagged out baseball game!
