A candlelight vigil is planned for Sunday night for the father and his 11-year-old son from Texas who were killed in the Nice attack. A fundraising campaign created on Friday has already raised more than $63,000 for the family.

Sean Copeland, 51, and his son, Brodie, 11, were among those killed in Thursday’s attack. The Copelands were celebrating Bastille Day with other spectators on the Promenade des Anglais, watching the fireworks, when the truck plowed through the crowd.

Heather Copeland, the niece of Sean, tweeted and indicated a candlelight vigil will be held at 8 p.m. in the town of Prosper in the Frontier Park Pavilion. “Anyone is welcome,” she wrote, ending with the hashtag #copelandstrong.

Brodie, who was a baseball player at Hill Country Baseball, was said to make an impact on all the coaches there.

A gofundmepage was created by the owner of Hill Country Baseball, Jonathan Paiz, has already raised $63,830 since it started on Friday.

“Brodie has been playing baseball at Hill Country since Fall of 2014. Immediately, he made an impact on all of the coaches at HC.  Sean was very supportive and proud to be a part of the HC family,” Paiz wrote.

“Nobody deserves this type of fate, especially not such a wonderful family. You are in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers. We are asking that you support the Copeland family in this time of need. These funds will go directly to the Copeland family. Rest in peace, Brodie and Sean, you will be remembered by many,” wrote Paiz.

In a post on its Facebook page, Hill Country was in Austin last night to remember the Copelands. “We spent a couple of hours at the graffiti wall last night in downtown Austin. Figured this would be a fun way to say that we miss you, Brodie!”

The graffiti wall reads, “R.I.P. #8” and #CopelandStrong.
