A woman tried to climb the Statue of Liberty in New York City on Wednesday, leading to the evacuation of Liberty Island. Authorities were forced to shut down the monument for hundreds of tourists while they brought in a team to bring her down safely.

According to several news outlets, the woman may have been part of a larger anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protest that took place earlier in the day, resulting in seven arrests. Those protesters draped a large sign that read “ABOLISH ICE” from Lady Liberty’s base.

Update:

According to law enforcement on the ground, the woman is refusing to come down from her perch until “all the children have been released.”
