MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough said Friday on “Morning Joe” the American people of 2008 would have been “thrilled” to have the type of economic success seen under the Trump administration.

Scarborough admitted the economy has improved dramatically under Trump and said peace and prosperity have become the norm. (RELATED: Joe Scarborough Challenges ‘Pro-Lifers’ To Come At Him Over Kavanaugh Handshake Controversy)

“We have peace and prosperity. Seven years of economic growth. The economy’s doing much better now,” Scarborough said. “Then you go back to 2008. My God. People would have absolutely … been thrilled. Wouldn’t have believed how well America would have recovered over the past decade.”

He marveled at how the Islamic State has “been defeated” and tried to give partial credit for America’s recent success to former President Barack Obama. He also pointed out the massive disconnect between the beltway of Washington, D.C., and the rest of the country.

“We have peace across the world. ISIS has been defeated. Of course, that started under Barack Obama,” he concluded. “But it has continued under Donald Trump, and James Mattis’s leadership. What a disconnect from Washington, D.C., and the United States of America.”
