‘It’s Annoying’: UNC’s Armando Bacot Says Angry Sports Gamblers Send Him Boatload Of Messages

I HATE losing bets, but I would NEVER complain to an athlete about it … that’s just too far.

And quite frankly, most athletes aren’t like Jayson Tatum. They’re not going to care about your lost money, and on top of that, they’re going to have zero interest in hearing about betting interests. And yes, as a gambler myself, I’d love for all of them to be like Tatum, but that just isn’t happening.

Take North Carolina forward Armando Bacot, for example. In the Sweet 16 of the NCAA March Madness tournament, his Tar Heels are squaring off against the Alabama Crimson Tide. If you didn’t know, UNC has some of the best betting odds to win the national championship, and you better believe there’s a lot of wagers on them.

But Bacot? … He couldn’t give a damn.

Now with most gamblers like myself, we have different methods of how we deal with the pain of a losing bet: Some of us like to take a break for the rest of the night. Some of us like to chug down a beer and get right back to it. Some get right back to betting instantly to win their money back. There are a lot of different things that sports bettors do to move on. But some people just flat-out can’t handle losing money and take things way too far, like actually sending messages to an athletes’ social media complaining about how they lost them a bet … huh?

That’s what some idiots are doing. I’ll let Bacot explain.

“It’s terrible. Even at the last game, I guess I didn’t get enough rebounds or something. I thought I played pretty good last game, but I looked at my DMs, and I got, like, over 100 messages from people telling me I sucked and stuff like that because I didn’t get enough rebounds,” said Bacot.

“I think it’s definitely a little out of hand. But at the same time, too, I get the point of it. Like, if you bet a lot of money on something, and you’re, like, one pick away and somebody messes it up, I understand the part of fans being mad. But it’s annoying, too, at times. Going to a school like North Carolina, you never catch a break. I order DoorDash and the driver is like, ‘Man, y’all messed up my parlay!’ I’m just like, whatever. It’s a lot.”
