Taxes … they’re something that can break a man.

Example A: NFL legend Bill Romanowski filed for bankruptcy Monday and allegedly owes the IRS a whopping $15.5 million in back taxes, according to court records obtained by USA Today.

Romanowski and his wife, Julie, are reportedly being hit with accusations from the federal government that they used nutrition company Nutrition53 in an attempt to illegally avoid handing over tax money. One day prior to a hearing with federal authorities, the Romanowskis declared bankruptcy, the outlet reported. (RELATED: Fox Is Charging $7 Million For A 30-Second Super Bowl Commercial: REPORT)

The couple has reportedly been charged by the federal government for allegedly using Nutrition53 accounts to fund personal expenses for themselves and their children. The company itself, owned by the Romanowskis, filed for bankruptcy last year.

In NFL history, Bill Romanowski is known for being one of the most violent players ever.

He played 16 seasons in the league, suiting up for the Denver Broncos, Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers and the then-Oakland Raiders. The two-time Pro Bowler has four Super Bowl championship rings, and is reportedly ranked No. 53 all-time in tackles with a total of 1,118.

Good googly moogly … and I thought my tax debt was bad.

Now, I’m not defending any alleged illegal or fraudulent behavior. Romanowski screwed up there if the allegations are true. However, with that being said, this is a thoroughbred example of how the IRS can break a man — and have been doing so since their founding. $15.5 million in unpaid taxes though?!

It’s crazy that one family would have to pay that much in taxes. The federal government is killing us.

But whatever, as long as Israel, Ukraine and Taiwan can get their money, and everybody else at that, while us Americans get absolutely NOTHING but dumb schools and potholes.
