Former Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz likened “pro-Hamas” protesters to “Hitler youth” Thursday on Fox News, stating that they’re destroying American universities.

Dershowitz appeared on “Hannity” to discuss the outbreak in protests at Columbia University this week to call for the school to divest itself from companies that have Israeli connections, according to Fox News. Fox host Sean Hannity questioned the former law professor on his thoughts about the issue, noting some of the rhetoric heard from pro-Palestine protesters. “I agree, but this is not pro-Palestine, this is pro-Hamas, which is anti-Palestine. The worst enemy that the Palestinian people have is Hamas. These kids are Hitler youth. These are the same kind of people who brought Hitler to power in 1933, Castro to power, Pol Pot to power, Mao Zedong to power. Just because they’re young doesn’t mean they are not extremely, extremely dangerous. What they’re doing is providing aid to a terrorist organization,” Dershowitz stated.

“Can you imagine a university allowing people to have a parallel chant to ‘From the river to the sea’ imagine them saying, ‘From the Atlantic to the Indian Ocean, South Africa will be free of blacks, and let’s return South Africa to white apartheid rule.’ Not a single student would be allowed to stay at that university. Or what if students said, ‘We are the KKK,’ what if a group of white supremacists said, ‘We are the KKK.’ This is not about freedom of speech, this is about double standards.”

“The diversity, equity, and inclusion bureaucracy is the incubator for anti-Semitism at every major university in the United States. As long as we maintain the DEI intersectionality we’re not getting to the heart of the problem. It’s destroying American universities, it is fomenting anti-Semitism, it’s fomenting anti-Americanism. Scratch an anti-Israeli, scratch an anti-Semite and you’ll find an anti-American. That’s why these people are cheering, chanting ‘Death to America.’ This is anti-American, this is subversive, this is an attempt to really overthrow the government of the United States,” Dershowitz stated.

Since the Hamas-led Oct. 7 terrorist attack against Israel, the United States has seen an increase in protests across the country, notably on college campuses. While Columbia University has previously experienced protesting from students, New York Police Department (NYPD) officials arrested a reported 108 people Thursday, after roughly 500 students left their classrooms for protest, according to Fox News.

Activists protesting could reportedly be heard telling authorities that they were the “KKK,” “baby killers,” and to “go kill” themselves, the outlet reported. Among those confirmed arrested and given a trespassing summons was Democratic Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar’s daughter, Isra Hirsi, according to Fox News. Hirsi, who is in her third year at Barnard College, additionally claimed that she was allegedly suspended from the school due to her pro-Palestinian activity.
