A substitute teacher in New Jersey’s Atlantic County school district was suspended for telling a 7-year-old female student that she was “too sexy” for gym class.

Marco Inskip, the 40-year-old substitute at Charles Spragg Elementary School, claimed that he had said “cute” but other students said that he had said “sexy.”

The Egg Harbor City school board will review the case in May, the Associated Press reported.

The second-grader told another teacher about Inskip’s comment on Monday. Inskip was suspended on Wednesday.

Henry Wilson, the girl’s father, filed a harassment complaint with the police, the Press of Atlantic City reported. While Wilson told the Press that he was pleased with how quickly the school responded to the incident, he chose to file the complaint to prevent Inskip from working in other school districts.

“I just don’t want him to be able to go to another district and do the same thing,” he said.

Wilson explained that Inskip was separating the class into two lines in gym class, and told his daughter that she was “too sexy to do gym class today.”

The girl then told a teacher that Inskip had said a bad word to her, and another student told the teacher that Inskip called the girl “sexy.” The teacher then took the girl to the guidance counselor.

Wilson explained that his daughter was fine after the incident.

“The guidance counselor talked to her, and I’m happy how the school responded.”
