During the 2014 MTV VMAs Sunday night, the network gave a short and poorly unannounced tribute to the late Robin Williams, who committed suicide in early August.
The video was thrown in between Nicki Minaj’s ass-shaking and Taylor Swift’s terrible new single “Shake It Off,” and was a mere 23-seconds slideshow of images of Williams throughout his career, while Coldplay’s “A Sky Full of Stars” played in the background. No presenter introduced the tribute.

The clip generated backlash on Twitter for its abruptness.
This has been trash so far & what’s up with them putting up 4 random pics of Robin Williams? Was that supposed to be a tribute or…..

That “tribute” to Robin Williams tells you everything you need to know about this show. It would have been less insulting to do nothing.

I feel like Robin Williams deserved a way bigger tribute than just a few pictures before commercials
