More bad news from the Sooner State Thursday as an Oklahoma woman has been accused of dressing up as a witch to terrorize her 7-year old granddaughter.

Geneva Robinson, 49, came to the attention of local authorities after taking the child to Oklahoma City’s Griffin Memorial Hospital and telling the employees there that she was unable to control the girl. A police report found the girl to be malnourished, with a number of burns and bruises all over her body, Oklahoma’s KFOR reports.

Her ankles had infected cuts around them, and her wrists also showed signs of having been bound. She told a Department of Human Services worker that her grandmother would put on a green mask, dress up as a witch, and make her sleep, wrists bound, on a pair of pants in the garage because “she was in trouble.”

Robinson’s granddaughter alleges that the her witch alter-ego is named “Nelda,” and that she would tie a pink dog leash under the child’s arms and hang her in the garage, while telling her that “creatures in the attic were going to come get her.”

Several of Robinson’s neighbors expressed incredulity at the allegations.

Joshua, who lives in the house with the suspect and three other children besides the victim, flatly denied the charges: “It’s not true at all.” He added that the alleged victim was a troubled child.

Evidence discovered by the Oklahoma City Police Department appears to corroborate the little girl’s allegations, however.

“There were whips and chains and a witch’s hat found there. Just a completely horrible situation for a child to be in,” said MSgt. Gary Knight.

In addition, another adult man living in the southeast Oklahoma City house allegedly told police that Robinson regularly kicked him in the genitals. She has been booked on a $10,000 bond and four young children living in the house were taken into protective custody.
