Comedian Chris Rock hosted “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, and during his opening monologue, the 49-year-old made light of the Boston Marathon Bombing and 9/11.

Instead of following suit with other hosts — thanking the crowd, making a few jokes about his career and singing a song — Rock opened with a brief comedy set. His first joke about the marathon bombing, which happened in April 2013, garnered few laughs from the crowd, but the audience seemed to warm up after Rock delved into his jokes about the Freedom Tower.

“I don’t care if Scarlett Johansson is butt naked on the 89th floor in a plate of ribs. I’m not going in the Freedom Tower.”
