25 Years Later: Here’s David Hasselhoff Tearing Down The Berlin Wall [VIDEO]

Twenty-five years ago this weekend, the Berlin Wall came crashing down as East and West Germany came together to throw off communist rule.

Fortunately for the entire German nation, actor and singer David Hasselhoff was there to cheer Berliners on atop the wall, and sing his alleged hit song “Looking for Freedom.” The crowd loved it, at least.

With a lit-up leather jacket, Hasselhoff channeled his inner Ronald Reagan to congratulate East Berlin on its newfound freedom. He also manages to dodge a couple of firecrackers, too.

To further commemorate the 25th year anniversary of the toppling of the Berlin Wall, here’s Reagan’s famous 1987 speech demanding that Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev “tear down this wall.”
