No good deed goes unnoticed on The Mirror blog.

In an unusual display of journalistic heroism, Politico Europe news editor Craig Winneker admitted that he was to blame for an error in the lede of reporter Tara Palmeri‘s story on European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker.

That’s a name the reinvented pub has been yakking about for several days now since it launched it’s mission to take over the world.

The act was so decent that even the guy pointing out the error fell all over himself about casting blame.

The reader concluded, “It’s not about ‘fault.’ Wasn’t finger pointing at Tara Palmeri. Best of luck!”

A graduate of Texas Christian University, Winneker’s LinkedIn profile says he has 25 years of journalism and communications experience. Some of his listed specialities include english, copyediting, editing, guitar and french. In the mid-90s he was managing editor of Roll Call.

He also has experience in coping with shouting.

From 1987-1989, he was an assistant producer for The McLaughlin Group.
