Dive-Bombing Birds Terrorize Neighborhood In Houston

Hostile birds have moved into one block in the Heights neighborhood of Houston and are attacking any person that sets foot in their territory.

The aggressive avians have been dive-bombing local homeowners, delivery men, and visitors to the neighborhood, CBS Houston reported on Tuesday.

Resident Victor Valenzuela vividly recalls an experience he had in which he made eye contact with a bird.

“I felt it hit my back and I turn around, and it’s looking right at me, so I broke off in a sprint. I’ve seen it happen to a bunch of people, the UPS guy, my girlfriend walks by – she gets attacked.”

Some locals have begun avoiding the area all together in order to remain out of the line of fire.

“I felt something hit my back and I was like what was that,” remarked Eliana Crenshaw-Gibbs. “I turn around and I see the bird coming at me, so I start running.”

Several victims have drawn comparisons to Alfred Hitchcock’s 1963 thriller, “The Birds”

Neighbors speculate that the birds are protecting the area around a nest of baby birds.

This is not the first time the area has come under aerial assault as a report from the Houston Chronicle in 2005 makes note of dive-bombing birds protecting their nest by the County Administration Building in downtown Houston.
