Jared Fogle’s lawyer is claiming he has a “medical problem” and is seeing a “world-class” psychiatrist to treat it.
Jeremy Margolis made the statement as he was leaving the courthouse with Fogle on Wednesday, adding that his client expects to go to prison.
Fogle is facing federal charges after he allegedly paid for sex with minors, received and distributed child pornography and traveled across state lines to have sex with at least two teenage girls.
Though he entered a not guilty plea, Margolis said the former Subway spokesman will change it to guilty and “acknowledge responsibility for his wrongdoing.”
“He at some point hopes to once again become a productive member of society,” the lawyer added.
Reports said Fogle was working on a plea agreement with prosecutors that includes five to 13 years in prison, a $1.4 million payment to the victims and him registering as a sex offender. (RELATED: Jared Fogle’s Wife Files For Divorce)
