Bill O’Reilly and Jorge Ramos engaged in a shouting match regarding Ramos’ immigration advocacy, which resulted in O’Reilly telling Ramos, “You’re an activist!”

The heated exchange occurred on Wednesday’s Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor,” where Ramos insisted, “I am just a reporter asking questions.”

O’Reilly pressed Ramos, “How can you possibly cover illegal immigration fairly when you are an activist?” The Fox News host argued that Ramos should become a commentator like himself.

Ramos responded by criticizing O”Reilly, “I don’t think you are the right person to lecture me on advocacy and journalism when you spend most of your program giving opinions without asking questions.”

O’Reilly interrupted, “I’m a commentator. That’s what I do.”

Later when O’Reilly told Ramos that he “was not a newsman anymore, you are an advocate now,” Ramos retorted that he was a reporter and that sometimes “you have to take a stand when it comes to racism, discrimination, corruption, public lies, dictatorship, and human rights. You have to take a stand.”

Ramos brought up Donald Trump and claimed it is his job as a reporter to challenge the Republican candidate. O’Reilly disagreed, saying “No, a reporter reports, doesn’t give an opinion. A commentator gives an opinion.”

Ramos even tweeted about the debate.
