Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson joked on MSNBC that “the quickest way to get gun control in this country would be to form something called the Black Rifle Association.”

“I’ve always thought that the quickest way to get gun control in this country would be to form something called the Black Rifle Association, because it was white fear of black people having guns that led people to talking about guns,” Robinson said Friday on “Morning Joe.”

Host Mika Brzezinski responded, “Wow.” and Robinson explained, “I’m serious.”

Host Joe Scarborough added, “That did happen in the suburbs of L.A in ’65 and ’66.”
