After receiving less than 1 percent in the Iowa caucus Monday, former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley is expected to announce he is ending his bid for the Democratic 2016 presidential nomination at his caucus party, CNN reports.

The former Baltimore mayor failed to gain the traction former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders have received.

O’Malley has not polled above 6 percent since entering the race.
