Cincinnati, Ohio is the best place for newly-minted college graduates, according to a recently released set of rankings.
The rankings, from an outfit called SmartAsset, are the result of various numbers crunched in three categories: the local job market, the cost of living and the amount of fun to be had around town, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer.
The rankings tabulate that the Queen City — also called Porkopolis — boasts a pedestrian jobs rating of 58.87 (out of 100) but an affordability rating of 97.16 and a somehow sizzling “fun rating” of 84.10.
The cost of living in Cincinnati is 7 percent below the national average.
Pittsburgh, Pa. comes in second on the overall list thanks largely to a spectacular “fun rating” of 91.57.
Columbus, Ohio ranks third on the list thanks to solid-but-not-spectacular scores in all three columns.
Among the other cities in SmartAsset’s top 20, Seattle (No. 7 overall) scores highest in the “fun” category with a perfect score of 100.
Seattle and Austin, Texas (#6 overall) tie for the top spot in the category of actual jobs available with identical scores of 82.66.
For affordability, Toledo, Ohio grabs the top spot with a perfect score of 100.
“For college students with the ability to relocate after graduation, choosing the right place to live can go a long way toward alleviating some problems,” SmartAsset observed, according to the Enquirer.
SmartAsset advertises itself as a company which uses software and data “to provide simple, easy to understand answers to complex financial questions.”
