Kasich Legalizes Medical Marijuana In Ohio

Font Size:

If you ever wondered why John Kasich actually thought he’d get the GOP nomination long after it was obvious he wouldn’t, or why he was always stuffing his face, the following might provide a clue.

Jessie Balmert, Cincinnati Enquirer:

Gov. John Kasich signed a plan to legalize medical marijuana into law Wednesday, making Ohio the 25th state to approve its use…

Kasich was quiet about whether he supported legalizing medical marijuana, saying only that he would follow doctors’ recommendations and wanted to help children in pain. But he ultimately signed the bill, which will take effect in 90 days.

I’m all for it. Medical marijuana can be a godsend to cancer patients and people with chronic pain. Sure, the use of marijuana can result in some strange behavior:

But isn’t that a small price to pay to help people in pain?

FWIW, I would’ve voted for Kasich if he was the GOP nominee. He somehow manages to be both weird and boring at the same time, and all he did was take votes away from the more plausible candidates, but he would’ve been better than either of the jerks we’re stuck with now. Hell, I’d do a better job than either of them. That’s how bad it is.

What’s next for Kasich? Who knows?
