Josh Barro and Mike Lupica told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle Tuesday morning that Bill and Hillary Clinton should stop trying to explain why Hillary lost the election to Donald Trump.

Barro, senior editor at Business Insider stated he “would like to hear very little from the Clintons right now.”

“Like any very close election, you can identify 20 different things that if they went differently, Hillary would have won,” he told Ruhle. “I think if James Comey never sent that letter, she probably would have won. At the same time, I also think if she never set up a private email server, she probably would have won.”

“If Bill Clinton himself had not gotten on that stupid plane with Loretta Lynch this summer, there wouldn’t have been all this fuss about interference in the investigation, and maybe Jim Comey wouldn’t have felt the need to get so out in front of it to demonstrate his self-independence,” he continued.

“If you’re the Clintons, if you’re Democrats right now, you should spend less time being upset about all the unfair things that happened to you that caused you to lose — even though there were some unfair things,” he explained. “Focus more on what the Democrats did wrong to lose to such an unfit candidate as Donald Trump.”

Lupica, a columnist with the New York Daily News, gave an even more blunt response.

“We’ve reached the point where it looks like we’re going to have to chloroform the Clintons to get them to stop talking,” he joked with a straight face. “Don’t talk to the press when you want —  nobody cares any more.”

“Seriously. Nobody cares. The game’s over. They lost,” he continued. “Not only did they lose, but everybody’s gone home now.”

“Stop explaining away because their reasons sound more and more like excuses.”
