Alec Baldwin On Playing Trump: ‘He’s Tense, He’s Angry, He’s Pissed Off’

Anytime I start to feel sorry for myself, whenever life’s burdens seem too much to bear, I think about poor Alec Baldwin. He agreed to portray Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live as a goof, never imagining for even one second that Trump would actually win. Then — SPOILERS — Trump won. Baldwin was so upset that he couldn’t even show up for that week’s show, so Kate McKinnon had to resort to holding a funeral for Hillary’s political career. It’s a sad state of affairs, and Baldwin isn’t too proud to whine about it in public.

He’s hosting SNL yet again this week, and he hasn’t forgotten his ABCs: Always Be Carping. Extra, the show for people who aren’t up for the intellectual challenge of Entertainment Tonight, gives us this “surprising” confession:

“Extra” correspondent Hilaria Baldwin, Alec’s wife, went behind the scenes of “SNL,” where he got candid about being on the show and taking on the role of playing President Donald Trump. “I enjoy being a part of it,” he said, before admitting, “Playing him is not a lot of fun. He’s tense, he’s angry, he’s pissed off, and that’s not fun to play.”

Yeah. If Alec Baldwin wanted to be tense, angry, and pissed off, he’d just stay at home and scream at his family. Maybe take a walk, beat up some photographers, the usual.

Here he is, obliviously accusing somebody else of having no chill:

That’s where we are in 2017: “We repeat back everything Trump says.” Don’t you miss the old days, when we were supposed to repeat back everything Obama said?
