Have you heard of a fidget spinner? I hadn’t. But according USA Today, they are Forbes’ “office toy of 2017.” What are they? Great question. Thankfully, USA Today has the answer:

Fidget spinners are little gadgets, smaller than your palm, with two or three prongs with circles in them, along with a circular pad in the middle where you hold the device with your finger and thumb. Then you twirl it.

Basically, fidget spinners are the modern version of a desk staple – the stress ball. You can spin them in your hand to relieve anxiety and concentrate on the task at hand. The article says, “The price can range from a couple of bucks to more than a couple hundred.” But it doesn’t give any examples of hundred-plus dollar versions (nor does it hint at why they would cost so much). An Amazon search for fidget spinners doesn’t immediately reveal any that go for anywhere near that. The #1 most popular is actually on sale for only $3. (It is actually the most popular item on all of Amazon in the “Toys & Games” category).

I am definitely partial to the American flag-themed version, however (which happens to the third most popular product in “Toys & Games”). It’s also way, way, WAY less than “a couple hundred”:
