CNN guest Bill Press exploded on a former George Bush staffer when he tried to defend Trump’s statements about the Civil War, telling him “that’s the most nonsensical statement I’ve ever heard on any television network.”

Kate Borden, host of CNN’s “At This Hour,” asked Paris Dennard, a former Bush aide, what President Trump meant when he asked if the Civil War could have been prevented.

“I think we should ask the question now, ‘Why did the country get to the point where so much division, so much hatred, so much lack of respect for basic human rights…Why did this happen?'” Dennard responded.

Bill Press could be seen shaking his head during Dennard’s answer, and let loose when he finally got a chance to speak.

“Let me say, with all due respect, that’s the most nonsensical statement I’ve ever heard on any television network,” Press declared.

“The last thing we need today is to go back and question or fight the Civil War,” Press continued, before asking if Trump got his history degree from Trump University.

Dennard tried to cut in, but Press mocked him once more and stated, “obviously he didn’t get a history degree.”

“This is the worst I think Donald Trump has ever sunk,” he finished.
