The first topic on Thursday’s episode of “The View” was White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders’ use of the word “atrocities” to describe actions by ousted FBI Director James Comey. (RELATED: Sarah Sanders: I Wouldn’t Use Politico As A Source [VIDEO])

Whoopi Goldberg wasn’t pleased. “Not for nothing, babe, but here’s some real atrocities, like the Holocaust. Atrocity! 9/11 attacks, Rwanda genocide, Armenian genocide, Sandy Hook shooting, Darfur, those are atrocities. Overstepping your bounds? Not so much.”

“What was the atrocities she was referring to?” asked co-host Joy Behar.

“All the things she referred to in the letter,” replied Sara Haines.

Whoopi Goldberg brought it back to lambasting Sanders. “Does she know what an atrocity actually is? Because it’s an extremely wicked or cruel act, typically one involving physical violence or injury.”

Joy Behar concluded that Sanders ought to consult a thesaurus to find a better word.
