Quote of the Day:

“Feel free to move out anytime.”

— MSNBC “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough on Trump telling Sports Illustrated that the White House “is a real dump.”

NYT’ Glenn Thrush, Maggie Haberman call bullshit on White House Press Sec. Sarah Huckabee Sanders

THRUSH: ‘I don’t think anyone just wanders into the Oval Office’ says Sarah. I have witnessed people just wandering in.

HABERMAN: This is a surprising statement since it’s easily proven otherwise.

Mika wants Trump’s fam out of the White House

“It’s time for Donald Trump’s family members to get out of the way and let professionals run the White House. Actually, it is way past time.” — Scarborough’s co-host/fiancé Mika Brzezinski.

And now for a knock on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’

@Morning_Joe is doing an extended commercial for Goldman Sachs. Literally. The bank is sponsoring the show today. It’s an infomercial.” — Greg Pollowitz, editor, Twitchy.

More on Trump calling the White House a dump…

Politico‘s Ben White: Seriously, if Obama called the White House a ‘real dump’ Fox News would have covered it 24/7 for at least a year.

The Nation‘s Joan Walsh: Eight years, Ben. Eight years.

The Mooch on being in the ‘spirit’ of off-the-record: The Lizzas and The Scaramuccis

This stems from a story by HuffPost‘s Vicky Ward.

“The Lizzas and Scaramuccis have been friends for over 50 years. My dad knew his dad from construction, and we were building a personal relationship. Most of what I said was humorous and joking. Legally, it may have been on the record, but the spirit of it was off. And he knew that.” — Scaramucci, who said he plans to take Lizza out out for a beer.

“‘Legally, it may have been on the record, but the spirit of it was off.’ — Scaramucci almost making sense but not.” — BuzzFeed Legal Editor Chris Geidner quoting the HuffPost story.

“Being on-the-record is like being pregnant in 2 key ways: 1. There’s not really a middle ground. 2. You should be there for the end results.” — Jared Rizzi, White House correspondent for SXMPOTUS/SIRIUSXM.

Roger Stone shivs CNN nemesis Ana Navarro

Stone has infamously called Navarro “dumber than dog shit” and a “pompous shithead.” He has maintained that Navarro treats TV employees badly. Still, his comments are why CNN kicked him off the network last year.

When asked about this latest jab, Stone told The Mirror, “The great Stone knows all sees all. My sources in the Cuban-American community where Ana is truly hated, are impeccable.”

CNN’s Kaczynski’s ‘feels bad’ for New York Post portrayal of Scaramucci missing son’s birth

“Still it’s shitty and I feel bad for the guy.” — CNN’s Andrew Kaczynski.

He’s referring to a report by New York Post that stated that Scaramucci “didn’t attend” the birth of his son and “instead” sent his estranged wife a text. A more elaborate explanation can be found in the HuffPost story, which states that his understanding was that his wife’s due date was Aug. 9, that he tried to charter a plane back but a no-fly zone prevented it and that his wife — after the birth —  requested “some space.”

Politico media newsletter gay baits Sinclair’s Boris Epshteyn and then changes the whole thing

This was published last Friday but it’s still worth a look. This went from torrid and sultry to a completely innocent interaction between a father and son. There was no correction from the writer Hadas Gold but the copy suddenly changed.

Original:

The Fix (without correction):

— Sinclair’s Boris Epshteyn standing outside the tower which houses POLITICO World HQ (and Boris’ offices with Sinclair) speaking in Russian to an older gentleman (his father) (mid-late 50’s) for several minutes. After the conversation concluded, the two exchanged a deep hug and a kiss on each cheek before his father hopped into a cab.
