Rep. Jacky Rosen, who is challenging Sen. Dean Heller for his Nevada Senate seat, tried to dodge her way out of a question about Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid on Wednesday.

MSNBC’s Hallie Jackson asked Rosen if Democratic Sen. Harry Reid wanted her to run for the Senate seat, and Rosen tried to wiggle her way out of answering.

“A lot of people talked to me about running,” Rosen, who is a freshman congresswoman, said. “I’ll tell you the honest truth, no one can talk you into doing this. It’s really hard and you have to want to do it.”

“Honestly, my daughter…looked at me and said, ‘Mom, I’m so proud of you that you can do this, you can stand up and you can fight for our future,’ and that is the core reason I’m doing it,” she continued.

Jackson cut in and refused to let Rosen out of answering the Harry Reid question.

“You mentioned that a lot of people talked to you about running,” Jackson said. “Was Harry Reid one of those people?”

“Harry Reid was one of those people, yes,” Rosen finally admitted.
