MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell interrupted coverage of President Trump’s rally Wednesday in Phoenix, Arizona  to tell his viewers that the president was lying about the media.

“What happens with them is they write a story about me and I know if it’s honest or false,” Trump said during the rally.

O’Donnell quickly cut in to defend the media and accuse the president of lying.

“That’s the president lying about the media,” he said. “He is telling his audience that the media lies about him. The president quoted his remarks on Saturday after Charlottesville and he falsely quoted his remarks.”

During the rally, Trump quoted his first statement about Charlottesville but left out his words about the violence happening “on many sides.”

“He is lying to this audience about what he said and he is lying to this audience about what the media said about what he said,” O’Donnell asserted before resuming his coverage of the rally.
