John Legend once tried to break things off with Chrissy Teigen, but obviously that didn’t work out too well for him.

In a recent interview with The Guardian Legend revealed that he tried to break up with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model, but she didn’t let him follow through with it.
“I was really stressed and busy,” he explained. “I was just like: ‘I’d just be happier single right now,’ and she was like: ‘No.'”
Of course, both the “Glory” singer and SI Swimsuit cover girl went on to get married in 2013 and are now one of Hollywood’s favorite couples.
Teigen tweeted a link to an article about their almost breakup story on Monday, adding “11 years later, baby.”

“It wasn’t a typical breakup,” Teigen explained in a following tweet. “He was on tour and his voice hurt and he was being a whiny face about everything and so yeah, I was like ‘no.'”
