MSNBC’s Katy Tur thinks that so-called “conservatives” who support repeal of the Second Amendment and gun control are “Republican thought leaders.”

WATCH:

Tur identified The New York Time’s Bret Stephens and The Atlantic’s David Frum as “Republican thought leaders” on Friday after the two men seemed to side with the left on the gun debate.

Stephens wrote on opinion piece for the NYT on Thursday urging repeal of the Second Amendment, while Frum insisted in The Atlantic that “responsible gun owners” are a “myth”

“David Frum and Bret Stephens had two really interesting articles in the past two days,” Tur gushed. “And Bret Stephens, who’s a conservative, argued that there’s only one way to protect Americans and that is to repeal the Second Amendment.”

Tur wondered if the United States would soon be ready to talk about gun control or repealing the Second Amendment given that these two “Republican thought leaders, essentially” were on board.
