NBC News Severs Contract With Mark Halperin

Journalist and author Mark Halperin is out at NBC News after multiple women accused him of sexual harassment and assault.

MSNBC told CNN on Monday morning that both MSNBC and NBC News had ended their contract with the “Game Change” author. Halperin was an NBC News senior political analyst and a contributor on MSNBC, making frequent appearances on “Morning Joe.”

Halperin was suspended last week when multiple women came forward to CNN with sexual harassment and assault allegations. The total number of accusers has risen to at least a dozen. The accusations include that Halperin pressed his clothed erect genitals on women, groped women, and masturbated in front a woman, all while serving in a senior position at ABC News. Halperin released an apology but claimed his behavior has changed in the years since he left ABC News.

After the allegations surfaced, Halperin also lost a book deal and a contract for a miniseries based on the 2016 election with HBO.
