The Trudeau government has ordered special winterized trailers for the illegal refugees who continue to enter Quebec from New York.

As the Canadian Press reports, although the number of asylum seekers has declined since the summer rush, numbers are expected to rise again as January approaches — when the Trump administration may lift the temporary protected status from the Haitian nationals who are fleeing the U.S. for Canada.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale announced Monday that the winterized trailers will be heated and ready for use by mid-November when half of the trailers arrive to replace the tent city that the Canadian Armed Forces erected for the illegals last summer.

The trailers will be suitable for sleeping and cooking as well as “related services,” according to a statement from Goodale spokesman Scott Bardsley, who indicated that the Canadian government wants to be prepared for any eventuality in the ongoing border crisis.

“The number of asylum seekers in Canada fluctuates over time and can depend on many different factors,” Bardsley informed the Canadian Press in an email.

“We won’t speculate on any possible future trends, but we continuously monitor conditions and developments in other countries to inform our planning.”

While illegal immigration continues along the border, Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen is indicating that legal immigration will remain at least at current levels. Hussen is expected to release its latest immigration policy in the House of Commons this week, but Hussen told CBC News that an immigration ceiling of “300,00 is now our new normal,” while he refused to say that number wouldn’t go higher.
