Devin P. Kelley, the man who shot up a church in Sutherland Springs, TX, called his father to let him know that he had been shot and might die.

A Texas civilian engaged Kelley with gunfire as he was exiting the church, causing Kelley to drop his rifle and flee in his vehicle. The civilian caught a ride with fellow Texan Johnnie Langendorff and the two men chased Kelley until he ended up on the side of the road and shot himself. In a news conference on Monday, Freeman Martin of the Texas Department of Public Safety revealed that Kelley had placed a call to his father during the car chase to let him know that he had been shot and did not think he was “going to make it.”
On Sunday, a witness to the gunfight said his neighbor had shot Kelley before he drove off in his vehicle. (RELATED: Eyewitness Watched Neighbor Shoot The Texas Church Shooter)
26 people were killed and at least 20 were injured in the shooting. The youngest victim was just 18-months old.
