Budweiser is looking to send their beer to outer space, according to a report published Monday.

The Missouri-based Anheuser-Busch company that makes Budweiser will research the microgravity beer by sending twenty barley seeds to outer space. The seeds will launch from Canaveral, Fla., Dec. 4 on the SpaceX cargo supply mission to the International Space Station, reported The Washington Post.

The barley seeds will orbit for a month and during that time they will be used for two experiments in order to test beer manufacturing in outer space. The first experiment will analyze how the seeds react in a low gravity environment and the second will determine if these crucial beer ingredients germinate.

“Not only will the research offer insights on steps to creating beer on the Red Planet, but it could also provide valuable information on the production of barley and the larger agricultural community here on Earth,” said Anheuser-Busch in a news release believing that this will be a way to brew beer of the future.

Anheuser-Busch will work with Space Tango, a startup company that helps companies conduct experiments with the International Space Station. The Kentucky-based startup will launch the experiments in the Lower Earth Orbit, said Twyman Clements, the Space Tango CEO, reported Inc.
