This week’s twentysomething teacher and track coach busted for allegedly traumatizing an 18-year-old male student with several sex romps is Tayler Ivy Boncal.

Boncal, 22, had been a student teacher at Conard High School in West Hartford, Connecticut, in the fall. After she completed her student-teaching assignment, school officials retained her to work at the high school as an assistant track coach, reports the Hartford Courant.

Sparks flew between Boncal and her unnamed paramour in early December when the 18-year-old male student summoned the gumption to ask the slightly older teacher for her phone number, according to a police affidavit.

The student was in at least one of the classes in which Boncal was a student teacher. (She taught unspecified social science classes for college credit.)

Boncal did, in fact, give the student her digits, the five-page affidavit says.

The requisite exchange of texts and raunchy photos between Boncal and the student then followed, beginning on Dec. 13. (Facebook Messenger was apparently the favored medium.)

Boncal and the 18-year-old student celebrated their first bout of sex on Christmas Day, according to the police affidavit.

A smattering of additional sex frolics then ensued over the next couple weeks. The final escapade transpired on Jan. 11, the affidavit says.

The site of all the sex was Boncal’s residence in nearby New Britain.

Boncal told police she had fallen hard for the 18-year-old student.

“She loved the victim and was emotional regarding her feelings for him,” the affidavit states, according to Hartford CBS affiliate WFSB.

“She expressed concern for the victim and was worried that he would get in trouble.”

Meanwhile, the 18-year-old male student — continually identified as “the victim” by police — told police he worried about Boncal’s fate.

“The victim expressed concern for Boncal with regard to the outcome of this investigation,” according to the affidavit.

Conard High School’s principal Julio Duarte sent a letter to parents concerning Boncal’s arrest.

“I know that there have been rumors amongst students these past few weeks,” Duarte’s letter said, according to WFSB.

“As educators, we are entrusted to protect and educate all of our students and know there are certain boundaries that can never be crossed. Also, we will not tolerate any behavior that compromises the safety or well-being of our students.”

The superintendent of West Hartford schools, Tom Moore, told the Courant he was “furious” that an 18-year-old student had sex with a 22-year-old student teacher and assistant track coach.

“Whether someone is 21, 41, or 61, the moment they are a part of a school as a student teacher, mentor, or coach, they enter into a sacred trust with our students and community,” Moore told the newspaper.

Law enforcement officials in West Hartford arrested Boncal late last week. She is charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault.

The Connecticut criminal statute under which Boncal is charged forbids any and all sexual contact between teachers and students in schools in the state.

The investigation that ended in charges against Boncal began after school district officials passed on an anonymous tip from a worried parent.

School officials have stressed that the 18-year-old male student who allegedly had sex with Boncal is not on the track team.

Boncal posted bail of $20,000 and was released. She is due back in court in March.
