A safe sex ad campaign featuring water hoses and sausages is being called too raunchy for television, according to a report Tuesday.

A Swiss ad campaign encouraging safe sex launched new commercials. One featured a woman using a hose and another featured a man making sausages, reported the Daily Mail. The Swiss health ministry produced the ad campaign called Love Life, reported The Local. Despite being a government-led campaign, the scenes are apparently deemed too scandalous for daytime British television.

The first advertisement features a young woman named Jasmin who is standing with a hose near an aquarium. A narrator instructs Jasmin to siphon water from the aquarium using the hose. Jasmin takes the hose and takes the time to smell it, alluding to checking for AIDS and STDs before being sexually active.

“Hello, today we learn how we suck out the water of an aquarium,” says the narrator in the commercial. As the siphoned water starts going into the bowl, the narrator notes, “This way Jasmin prevents her gran’s carpet from getting splattered.”

The second advertisement features a butcher named Karl who is making sausages. The ad notes that Karl makes “a giant and thick sausages,” alluding to using condoms. Another male comes into the room and the ad then says that his partner can help him.

“With the slogan ‘whatever you are thinking, also think about your health’ we want to promote ambiguously and with a pinch of irony our Safer Sex Check on the campaign website,” said Adrien Kay, the health ministry spokesman.

The campaign is supposed to use clichés and humor to make their advertisements more effective in promoting their message, Kay noted.
