Simply watching Rob Gronkowski play football likely warms the hearts of New England Patriots fans, but what he does off the field takes it to another level entirely.
Time and time again Gronk has proved himself as an incredible athlete on the field, but he also continues to impress with his actions when he isn’t under the lights. On Monday the Patriots’ tight end visited one of his biggest fans in the hospital to wish her well before receiving her second heart transplant, TMZ Sports reports.
Last week Lauren Meizo posted a video on YouTube asking Gronk to make her “dream come true” and come visit her in the hospital. Sure enough a few days later, after the video went viral and reached Gronkowski, the Patriots star player and his brother Gordie showed up at the hospital; to lift her spirits.
“Surprised Lauren Meizo w @gronk,” Gordie Gronkowski posted on Instagram. “It was great you allowed us to have a meet and greet with you! #gronksandwich #meizostrong.”
This will be Meizo’s second heart transplant in five years. Hopefully she bounces back quickly so she can get back to cheering on her favorite player when the season rolls around.
