A 5-year-old Missouri boy accidentally shot his older brother with a gun while looking for candy in his house, according to the family.

A spokeswoman for the family explained they believe the boy stumbled across their father’s gun in dresser drawer while looking for candy Saturday, according to The Associated Press.

Instead, he found a gun. Not knowing the difference between the gun and a toy one, he fired it at his brother Jermon Perry, family spokesperson Erica Jones said. The family was outside when the shooting occurred, according to Jones.
