De Niro announced on Thursday that he would not allow President Donald Trump to eat at any of the 39 Nobu restaurant and hotels he owns around the world.

“I don’t think the President is planning on attending a dinner at Nobu anytime soon,” Gidley said. “Look, Hollywood people grandstand all the time, they’re elitists.”

Gidley added that although De Niro can do what he wants with his own restaurants, the president will have no problem finding somewhere else to eat because he owns his own international hotel chain.

“The president has great dinners here at the White House and quite frankly he can go to many of his properties around the country and globe,” he said. “He won’t be stopping at Nobu anytime soon.”
