Former Arkansas governor and presidential candidate Mike Huckabee went after the media under Obama, calling them a “lapdog” for the former president on Saturday.

“There were a lot of scandals, but the difference was there wasn’t the scrutiny,” Huckabee said in response to a recent statement Obama made in which he said his administration didn’t have scandals. “You cant have the kind of scandals that you normally see in Washington if you don’t have a press corps that is doing their job of being a watchdog.”

Huckabee added, “In the case of the Obama administration, the press wasn’t a watchdog, they were a lapdog,” and compared the press further to his own dog, a King Charles Spaniel.

The former Arkansas governor then touched on a few of the various scandals under the Obama administration, including “pallets of just raw cash delivered to Iran,” Benghazi and the IRS scandal.
