Melania Dazzles In Black Gown At Ford’s Theater Gala [PHOTO]

Melania Trump dazzled Sunday night in a black gown as the Honorary Chair at a Ford’s Theater Gala to honor President Abraham Lincoln.

“Thank you @Fordstheatre & the talented performers for a special evening celebrating the arts & the legacy of former President Lincoln. Congratulations to @jacknicklaus & Sheila Johnson, the recipients of the Lincoln Medal,” the first lady captioned her post on Instagram, along with a handful of pictures from the evening of the her looking incredible in the silver and black sleeveless floor-length gown. At the end of the night’s performances, the first lady delivered remarks thanking Ford’s Theatre and the performers for a “wonderful evening.”

“I was honored to be part of such a special evening,” Trump said, according to a statement from the first lady’s office. “Tonight reminds all of us about the power the arts have in cultivating the American voice. Thank you to Ford’s Theatre Society for tonight, and your continued dedication to education and leadership in the arts—the impact they have on society is invaluable and something we will continue to cherish throughout time.”

Recipient’s of the Lincoln medal are chosen because “their body of work, accomplishments or personal attributes, exemplify the lasting legacy and mettle of character embodied” by Lincoln.
