President Trump gave former British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson the most flattering compliment Thursday, saying Johnson would “be a good prime minister” for England.

According to the English news publication The Sun, Trump said of Johnson: “I have a lot of respect for Boris. He obviously likes me, and says very good things about me.”

“I was very saddened to see he was leaving government and I hope he goes back in at some point,” Trump continued, adding, “I think he is a great representative for your country.”

Trump also said, “I am just saying I think he would be a great Prime Minister,” and stated that he believed Johnson’s “got what it takes.”

Johnson announced he would no longer serve as Foreign Secretary to the British government on Monday, and had contributed greatly to the Brexit movement. (RELATED: Brexit Chaos Continues As British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson Suddenly Resigns)
