Independent Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders outlined what he believes are the functions of the current United States Senate during an interview with comedian Sarah Silverman on her Hulu show “I Love You, America.”

Silverman recounted a time when she did laundry at the Senator’s home and went sledding with his family, although prefaced the remarks by “pretending” she didn’t do any of those things.

“We can’t even use dirty words. This is the United States Senate,” Bernie replied.

Silverman became visibly upset by her being barred from cursing before Bernie continued to lay out his version of the Senate’s key functions.

“We’re the United States Senate. We just starve little children, we go bomb houses and busses of children and we give tax breaks to billionaires, but we don’t use dirty words,” Sanders concluded.

“I Love You, America” is in its first season and airs Thursdays exclusively on Hulu.
