Republican candidate Kevin Cramer has a double-digit lead over North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp as she weighs whether to support Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, a new poll published Tuesday shows.

Cramer is in front of the incumbent by 10 percentage points, 51-41, according to a poll conducted by Strategic Research Associates. The poll also found that 60 percent of North Dakotans support Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, while only 27 percent are opposed.

Heitkamp is bleeding support among men – Cramer is garnering 56 percent support from men, while Heitkamp is managing only 35 percent. The poll, which surveyed 650 likely voters between Sept. 17-27,  was conducted in the midst of reports alleging that Kavanaugh sexually assaulted women during the 1980s.

A separate poll published Tuesday and conducted between Sept. 27 and 29 emphasizes the precarious situation Democrats like Heitkamp and West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin find themselves.

Public Opinion Strategies poll has a margin of error of 3.5 percent and shows women in North Dakota and West Virginia want Kavanaugh confirmed by 52 percent and 50 percent, respectively. The poll was conducted after accuser Christine Blasey Ford’s testimony in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

Sixty-two percent of independents in West Virginia and 50 percent in North Dakota believe Kavanaugh over Ford, according to the polling data. (RELATED: Christine Blasey Ford’s Testimony Leads To More Questions Than Answers)
