The Republican National Committee (RNC) will be releasing an advertisement Thursday featuring Arizona Democratic Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema’s radical activist past.

Sinema, who is running against Arizona Republican Rep. Martha McSally, has faced criticism throughout her campaign for multiple comments made in the past.

Sinema said in 2003 she doesn’t care if Americans want to fight for the Taliban, and was called out by McSally for her comments in a Monday debate. A spokeswoman for Sinema previously claimed the 2003 comments were “clearly offhand and an effort to get back on the topic of why she opposed the war.”

The ad comes as Sinema has been called out on her past comments about U.S. soldiers as well as other remarks about her state. For example, Sinema said people view Arizonans as “crazy” during a 2011 speech in Texas.

“Because over the past several years, people would watch what was happening in Arizona and be like, ‘Damn, those people are crazy. Is it something about the water?’ No, the water’s fine,” Sinema told audience members in Texas. “We swell from Colorado. There’s nothing wrong with the water. They’re just called Republicans.”

Sinema has also taken heat for an old comment she made about Arizona, saying the state was famous, but “not famous in a good way. We’re kind of, like, in a Lindsay Lohan kind of famous way.”

The RNC’s ad focuses on comments she made on a radio station, saying in an interview, “Libertarians, Democrats, Republicans, Greens, independents, anarchists, socialists, communists, whoever wants to come. They’re all welcome,” according to the ad, seemingly in reference to an event with potential police activity. “I said think about how the police are going to react to what you wear and what you say, and whatever decision you make is your choice.” (RELATED: Martha McSally Demands Kyrsten Sinema Apologize To Vets For Saying She Doesn’t Care If Americans Want To Join The Taliban)

Sinema also criticized former Arizona Republican Sen. John McCain in 2010, quoting The Washington Post, stating McCain is “grumpy and a little bit crazy,” and saying she already knew that.

“Kyrsten Sinema was hell-bent on holding anti-war protests and denigrating our troops fighting overseas after 9/11, then she stooped to a new low and opened the invite to far-left fringe groups including anarchists and communists. With Democrats across the country using dangerous rhetoric and going to extreme lengths to attack Republicans, even vandalizing two field offices here in Arizona, Kyrsten Sinema’s open call to her protest in Arizona is just further proof that she is out-of-touch with Arizonans and their values,” RNC spokeswoman Renae Eze told The Daily Caller News Foundation.

McSally is leading Sinema by 0.3 points, according to the Real Clear Politics average.

The Daily Caller News Foundation reached out to Sinema’s team for comment and did not immediately receive a response in time for publication.
