Johnny Manziel will be able to stay in the CFL for at least another season if he wants to.

The Montreal Alouettes’ management “absolutely” intend to bring Manziel back for the second year of his deal, according to a report from TSN’s Dave Naylor.

This shouldn’t be too surprising to anybody. Why wouldn’t they bring him back? He’s the biggest name ever to play north of the border, and it’s not even close. Yes, Doug Flutie played up there, but that was before the age of social media. Things have changed. (RELATED: Johnny Manziel Continues To Impress In His Return To Pro Football. Manziel also stands to make more than $400,000 if he hangs around for another year. That’s not a bad payday for a guy who had a fall from grace like he did.

I’m glad to see Johnny Football has settled down, and has his football career rolling right now. There was certainly a time when I think most people thought it’d never happen.

Life is a hell of a wild journey, and nobody knows that better than the Texas A&M Heisman winner.
