Godwin’s law is the proposition that the longer an internet argument goes on, the higher the probability becomes that something or someone will be compared to Adolf Hitler.” — Dictionary.com

A parody political ad released Friday showcased pundits on CNN and MSNBC doing just that — for 72 seconds straight.

WATCH:

The ad was published by Grabien founder Tom Elliott, and he referred to it as the “media’s closing argument” going into next Tuesday’s midterm elections.

The Trump/Hitler comparisons were not limited to television, either.

When Godwin’s Law was first conceived by attorney Mike Godwin in 1990, it was understood that whoever invoked Hitler or the Nazis automatically put an end to the discussion — and immediately lost the argument.
