Sometimes superstars get the benefit of close calls. Other times, they just get away with whatever they want.

With seconds to go in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 107-106 win over the Atlanta Hawks, LeBron James hung on the rim for what looked like 10-15 seconds after scoring the game-winning dunk, an offense which, by rule, should have resulted in a technical foul, giving Atlanta one shot and possession of the ball. (RELATED: Watch: Highlights From LeBron James’ Incredible Lakers Debut)

It’s one thing to allow players leeway during the course of an emotional game. It’s another to simply let a player blatantly flout the rules.

Come on, refs.

The look on LeBron’s face as he was hanging on the rim said it all. He’s the King, and the NBA is his palace. LeBron can get away with anything and he knows it.

It’s good to be King.
