Urban Meyer pulled off a pretty cool Tuesday night for the man replacing him at Ohio State.

Following the Buckeyes win over Washington in the Rose Bowl, Meyer addressed his team in the locker room and then passed his whistle to Ryan Day, the man tapped to be the next head coach at OSU. (RELATED: Urban Meyer Ends His Career At Ohio State With A Rose Bowl Win Over Washington)

Give it a watch below. Fans of the Buckeyes might find the room getting a little bit dusty.

I don’t care if you love Urban Meyer and Ohio State or hate both of them. You have to admit that was a pretty neat moment.

The passing of the torch in sports is always something that gives us chills. Urban Meyer had one hell of an insane career in Columbus, and now it’s over.

Ryan Day is the man running the show and everything is on his shoulders. He has some massive shoes to fill with Meyer’s departure.

Something tells me that Ohio State won’t drop off at all under Day’s watch. They’re always going to be loaded with talent, there’s no doubt Day can coach and Ohio State has a death grip on the conference.

As a Badger fan, does any of that make me happy? Hell no, but it’s important in life to face facts, and the fact is OSU isn’t going anywhere.
