NBC led all networks for sports viewership minutes in 2018.

According to Michael Mulvihill, more than 256 billion minutes of sports were viewed by people on the network in 2018. They were followed by FOX at 249.6 billion and ESPN in third with 223.4 billion.

That is just a dominating number for NBC. I would have to imagine having 17 weeks of “Sunday Night Football” played a major role in viewing minutes being so high for the network.

“SNF” has put up monster numbers all year. Even the Colts win over the Titans managed to put up an extremely impressive rating of 10.7. (RELATED: Here Were The Best Moments From Wild Card Weekend In The NFL)

Not too bad at all for NBC. FOX had college football, NFL action on Thursdays and Sundays, NASCAR and college basketball.

All of those helped jack the numbers up nice and high for a second place finish.

You know what else all those viewing minutes will translate into? Big advertising dollars down the road.

You can bet every dollar you have in the bank that NBC and FOX will both use these numbers to jack up the rates as high as they can.

That’s the nature of the business. I can’t wait to see who dominates the numbers in 2019.
